Founded in 1983, Children's Miracle Network (www.cmn.org) is an alliance of premier hospitals for children, an international non profit organization dedicated to helping sick and injured children by raising funds for 172 hospitals across North America. Each year these not-for-profit hospitals treat more than 17 million children.
Thousands of special event and grassroots fundraisers are conducted year-round through a coalition of premier children's hospitals, media partners and corporate volunteers working together to ensure healthy kids in their communities. Corporate sponsors sell paper Miracle Balloons, radio stations broadcast Radiothons, and college students hold Dance Marathons. This is just a few of the programs generating millions of dollars each year to provide the life-saving care and crucial services kids need. Through year round efforts to help kids, Children's Miracle Network has raised more than $2.5 billion to date, most of which is donated a dollar or two at a time by caring individuals across North America.
At Children's Medical Center Dallas and Cook Children's Fort Worth miracles happen every day. Children's Miracle Network-North Texas has worked with sponsors and individual donors to raise funds so that we can help make the world a better place for children. In fact, Children's Miracle Network pledges that all funds in this area benefit Children's Medical Center Dallas and Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth!
To date, through the generosity of our donors and sponsors, we have raised more than $22 million ($2.3 million in 2006 alone) for the North Texas area. Children's Medical Center Dallas and Cook Children's Fort Worth treated over 740,000 children and provided more than $647 million in charity and uncompensated care.
These two hospitals treat children with all types of afflictions such as cancer, heart and muscular diseases, birth defects, AIDS and accident victims.
